Sometimes the community manager is an on-site role, requiring the person to be in the office during business hours. The on-site manager is dedicated to performing duties for a single association, as opposed to a community association manager with a portfolio of clients working at an offsite location. Typically the onsite manager answers the phones, logs resident issues, supervises vendors, and coordinates management tasks with the offsite community association manager.
Since a community association manager has a portfolio of communities, the residents may not be as familiar with him or her, and, with the onsite manager being the primary contact. the residents may only see the association manager at regular board meetings.
