Are board meetings open to members?

Board meetings are open to all residents to attend and there is usually a limited opportunity for residents to speak. The board does have the right to go into executive session to discuss specific topics (personnel matters, litigation, contract negotiations, enforcement actions, confidential attorney communications, matters involving the invasion of owners’ privacy, and matters involving parties who have requested confidentiality and the board agreed to honor that request), but executive meetings are typically scheduled separately from the open-session meetings. Any decisions made during executive session will be orally summarized in the open meeting and placed in the meeting minutes.
